[Closed] window positions
Ok here is my problem.
I created a maxscript floater window with commonly accessed tools that I used to have on my second monitor at the position [1920, 0]. I used these window coordinates when creating the floater via “newRolloutFloater” and this always worked perfectly.
Recently I switched to another machine (same OS, same version of MAX) and now my window doesn’t open on the second monitor anymore. Instead, it opens in the center of my primary screen, as if it was given invalid window coords and MAX tries to open it at the default position.
The same thing happens to Material Editor and other tool positions. Even if I try to force them to open on my second monitor by changing their position in the ini file, they will open at the center of the primary monitor. I was just curious if anybody had an idea what causes this behaviour. I literally checked everything, MAX settings, graphics card settings but I could not find any solution. Would be cool to get my old max workspace back…
Another thing that might be related is that I never really got the PView window to open at the coordinates on my second monitor that were given by a “toggle PView” macroscript. It always opens in a way that part of it is still visible on my primary monitor. This is soooo annoying…
actionMan.executeAction 135018554 "32771"
$'Particle View 01'.Origin = [2242,0,0] -- opens at around [1700,0]
