[Closed] viewport stats: only toggle – no direct control?

i know one can toggle the current status of the viewport statistics display via maxscript,
but there is no way to either enable or disable it directly ?

Is this correct ? and if so, is there some hidden way to control it directly ?

for the life of me I can’t even find the toggling code – so you’re a step ahead already

That said – you could toggle it on/off explicitly via the viewport config dialog ( max vptconfig
) and UIaccessor

Alternatively, you could write your own statistics display;

thx for the reply, the toggle is a max command:

max show statistics toggle

quite easy … but well – but not very “complete” implemented

problem i have:
i write some kind of batchmode viewport benchmarking tool and want to be sure all incoming max files run under the same testing conditions, cause the performance hit with them on is quite noticable, even when they are set to display FPS only.
i guess i have to implement some OCR mechanism scanning the viewport to know if they are on 😈 har har

weird… doesn’t seem to be in the docs… certainly not when searching for e.g. “show NEAR statistics”, and not in the Max Commands main topic either…

Anyway – yes, try UIAccessor %)

ahhh – just saw your UIaccessor reply … did’nt know such a thing exists…
well that could provide a loophole to do what i wanted

thanky again !

found it via macrorecorder

gah – only shows when I use the keyboard shortcut (not via the viewport right-click menu)… go figure.
