hi gravey, thanks for spending time to give the example… what magicm said was to fake the effect… check the itemclick on second and third cell and then move a textbox at that place, edit it and then move it out again (i.e. the text boxes will be hidden and moved in and out). once the text it edited, update the value of the cells with that… so this will look like you are editing the actual cell…
the thing i couldnt do was finding the itemclick on each cells correctly and moving the textbox there… i have spent a lot of time looking at the references but this kind of thing is not there at all.
If you look at my previous post, I quoted a post by magicm with a different suggestion and modified the script for you according to it.
I myself have sometime become lost with certain new subjects in the reference that i’m unsure of but you just have to click on every link in the ‘see also’ section which is found at the bottom of every subject. FYI I tend to use the index tab in the reference rather than the search tab because I tend to find the results i’m looking for easier. In this case I typed listview, then clicked on the ‘ListView ActiveX Control’ link in the ‘see also’ section and scrolled down until I found the event I was looking for which turned out to be the itemClick event. Hope this helps in your current and future maxscript endeavours.
