[Closed] snapshotAsMesh

I don’t know if this is common knowledge or not so I thought I’d post it any way. The snapshotAsMesh function is documented wrong it should be shown as:

snapshotAsMesh <node> [ rendermesh:<boolean> ]

with the default for rendermesh is true. The upshot of this is if you snapshot say a spline circle you’ll get the mesh defined in the rendering rollout with the settings for renderer mesh. If you set rendermesh:false then you will get the mesh equivalent to converting the spline to an Editable mesh or an Editable Poly unless the spline rendering is set to enable in viewport then you’ll get the viewport mesh. I don’t know what differences this makes to other types of objects such as editable meshes, not much going by a few random tests.

If you go to the online documentation page for this item – then there is a little button in top right corner that you can click to report things like this.

I have done this in the past, and they do reply and fix things like this when reported

I reported a error on an Autodesk web page once before, I just received lots of email requests has it been fixed yet ? no, would you like to fill in a survey, no, has it been fixed yet ? no etc. etc. Luckily that email account expired when I changed isp. The error on the website afaik is still there and they are probably still sending emails to the dead account. So no I won’t report it if it’s all the same to you.

I’m talking specifically about documentation issues, not autodesk error reporting.
Like I’ve said – I’ve sent several documentation issues, and got a reply from the person fixing it saying ‘thanks’ and that they have noted it and will fix it in next update to the documentation, nothing more then that.
