[Closed] Select by Name Version 3
Yes! This is cool! It even displays Pflow components!!!
If there’s one more thing to comment is that the colors don’t load upon opening the dialog for the first time after closing and reopening it works fine!
Great tool,
Thanx!
Johan
Hey all,
I’ve just updated it with my ™ “internal update system”. So if you downloaded it within the last couple of days you should already be getting the prompt to update. If not download the newest one and you’ll get the option to prompt to update.
Wow, very cool script
Some feedback:
[ul]
[li]clicking on columnheader to sort[/li][li]shift+click don’t work correctly :([/li][li]click+drag to multiselect[/li][/ul]
Great script! The sort of thing I’ve been planning to write for years. Thanks!
My comments:
[ul]
[li]I added a minimize box in the titlebar[/li][li]I got rid of the bold font, which makes it a little easier on the eye[/li][li]Not sure about some of the colour choices! Maybe break these out into the ini file so that the user can change them manually?[/li][li]Also – what’s with the THREE new ini files it’s created!!?? One file with sections would suffice, surely?[/li][/ul]But great job. Really useful.
Cheers,
Dave
I kicked off the standard “select by name”
Your’s is much better…
features:
- renaming an object directly in this tool would be great!!
- after double clicking an object maybe the window could close
I don’t think so…
- isn’t so hard to rename objects with default tools
- press Enter to close window
I often drag toolwindows to the right side of the screen and over the object’s name textbox. In addition to that it’s practical to rename an objects in the same window where all objects’ names are in.
the closing by doubleclick isn’t that important…
You can drag Command Panel to right side
…but renaming “in place” after hiting F2 (like in explorer), will be really cool
Thanks guys for the feedback.
I’m not really using Max much anymore but maybe sometime I’ll get a chance to make some updates.
