Howdy!
I just installed visual c++ 2008 Express Edition and 3dsmax 2010 SDK.
Now I cant get the wizard to work…, all I get when I enter a name and press ok is Creating project maxProject1
project creation failed.
Anybody have any idea?
Maybe Express edition of visual c++ isnt supported?

Hi,
officially VS Express isn’t supported, and you need at least VS Standard Edition to compile plugins for 3ds Max. A guy some time ago reported to be able to make the 3ds Max SDK work with VS 2005, as explained here, so VS 2008 should be similar. I haven’t tried it anyway.

yep – i wrote that tutorial –
you can indeed get it working with vs express –
i have compiled several plugins with it and they work…
