[Closed] Scripted System object?
Any suggestions how to best approach a scripted tool that is comprised of multiple 3ds Max nodes, similar to what a System object is doing?
For example, I would like to create something similar to a Tape object, i.e. one system/assembly that uses two point helpers. Each of those point helpers can be moved/animated independently but if either of the helpers is selected, the “mother object” becomes active. If either of the helpers is deleted, all of it is deleted.
Any ideas?

I would prefer proper scene nodes, though, since they can be moved/animated normally.
Yes, I am looking at slidemanip.ms right now. The downside of this is that the ‘parts’ of the manipulator are only accessible in manipulate mode, not in outliner, trackview etc.
