[Closed] Script that uses Extrude Edge – But locks height to 0?

Hi, I would like to be able to use the extrude edge tool in Max but with the height value always locked to 0. Basically I only want to use this tool to chamfer edges while keeping the existing edge. Then I could bind it to a hotkey and ‘chamfer while keeping original edge’ at ease.

Right now, every time I use the tool I would have to manually open the dialog box and set the height to 0.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I see many requests about chamfering edges here with saving the original ones. The easiest way is to extrude it by zero height value, but you always have to watch for the height parameter. So I wrote my EdgeChEx 3dsmax plugin for that purpose. But in some situations there was needed a script doing the same operation – so I wrote it. It’s name is VGEdgeChamfer.ms, I included it in my script-pack named VGPack, you can download it for free from my site: http://www.vg2max.spb.ru/download.html
