I was wondering how to run the maxscript help docs localy from max once i download them. Where do I place these files to then enable me to go about this?

It would show you how to compile the offline html help in “old-style” (practical) CHM help.
(The tutorial is for 3dsmax 2013 help by it is working quite well for 2012 help also).
Yeah, I would recommend the CHM version as well
So sorry for my lack of understanding, what am I downloading and unpacking from the windows website? I don’t see a link to a direct download? Then second question? Do I unpack the windows download afterwards? Thanks again for the responses guys.

Download both 3dsmax offline help and “htmlhelp.exe” (from the link above).
Then simply follow the steps in the tutorial.
