[Closed] problems with merging objects with duplicate materials

hi,

I’m merging some object into a scene and some of them have materials with the same name as the scene materials. I tried to use the #useSceneMtlDups option of mergeMaxFile, as per the MXS help, but it still opens up the dialog. I tried pretty much every combination of the options with and without quiet:true, but to no avail.
Has anyone encountered this before? are the options mentioned in the MXS help wrong?

ok, I figured it out.
it turns out the merge does work, the problem was with adding xref objects in the same function.
