[Closed] pfsliner script update to max2009

hi, im new and unexperienced with maxscript,
and i have a problem with a pfspliner script i found here.
i get an error on both max 2008 and max 2009,
first if i change the fram count it tells me that “updateShape: curve with insufficient knots, knots added: editable spline,
and if i keep the preset from the built-in interface it gives me “incomaptible types: 30f, and 5f”.
this is all on a normal particle emitter.
can anybody help me out with this?
i checked on many forums, but seem to be quite alone on this problem.

thanks

j

Hi, what version were you using?
On page 2 of the thread, there’s a version with an interface and a couple of added options.
On, page 3, JBHaywood added a growing spline animation function.
I tested both on max2008 and it works fine.

hm, now it works for me too,
strange but very good
thanks!!!
my next question would be if it is possible to edit the script so that it will work on a pCloud,
as im looking for a more static result… means im not so interested in the animatin part
or is it against the logic of the script???

thanks for answer

Yeah, I think it would be against the logic of the script, since you will need particle movement in order to generate splines.

Someone also posted at the orbaz forums asking about using the script on a pcloud. Unless that someone was also you.

I’ll have a look at it and see what I can do (later in the day). I can’t promise anything though.:hmm:

heh,
yea, thats me…
but the topic is already two years old,
and i guess everybody who posted there are already dead…
thanks mate, ill check some on my own.

cheers
