[Closed] Parametric stuff. It's possible?

I want to ask you something: is possible to make a door like this with a maxscript?

And, of course, if is possible to be parametric! To can be changed, at will, the width, height and thickness.

[Here are more models of doors!]( http://ctscabinet.com/SAMPLES.htm)

What do you think? It's complicated? Anyone can help me?
Please! Thanks!

Yes, it is possible.
Yes, it is a bit complicated.
There is a set of Podcasts on the Autodesk Subscription site dealing with the basics of procedural geometry plugins – it is a good place to start.

Bobo, as usual, you are the first and i want to thank you for that.
Any clue, tutorial or idea is welcome. I’m not an expert in maxscript, i’m a beginner.

Thanks!

You could model it once, use Martin Breidt’s Plug-O-Matic to get a scripted plugin version, then use subobject scaling or Xform modifier to adjust the scale (never scale at the object level). As always with Max there are various ways to address any one task, you will have to find the one that works best for you and your co-workers.

PiXeL_MoNKeY, your ideas are very good, thanks, but i want something more clear, simply and “magic”.

I have a start script, for what i want, it's a simple door, but can be a good start, and a good path.
The script is made in collaboration with ianhaibo ( a very nice guy, a heart of gold, a master of maxscripts - Thank you, Ianhaibo! ).

Of course, this door is made from parametric primitives, and is very simply, i think.
I want something more complex, a real stuff!
Something like in the picture above.

Here is the code: [Click here !]( http://uploading.com/files/3a5825df/a%2Bsimple%2Bdoor.ms/)

That is a challenge for all beautiful minds!

Hi,

As already stated, it can be complicated. Have a look at this thread, the first MaxScript challenge, there are some examples of how to make a dining room table as a plugin script. They might be useful to help you on your way.

Don’t know why you didn’t think of it Eric! < :

J.

Never taken part in the Challenge’s so didn’t even think about it. The question is why didn’t Bobo mention it since he even provided a sample in that thread, as did you.

sorry my bad, confusing my monkeys, erilaz – “stealthy tea monkey” and Eric “PiXeL_MoNKeY”.

nice way to win friends and influence people.
