[Closed] morpher and the composite map

hey there
i was wondering is there an officiant way to connect the value of a morpher morph target
to the visibility of a layer in the composite map .
i cant find a way to reach the value of the layer in the map
other then scripting , so i failed to wire them together ,reaction manager didnt work
and copy past of the channel of the morh target to the value channel of the layer in the map didnt work as well, because i cant expose the layers in the curve editor or anywhere else.
so …
is there a way to connect them with maxscript and keep the connection updating anytime the morpher channel value changes ?

You don’t have to wire or script them to get it to work like that. Since they’re both 0-100, you can just copy-instance the controller. It’s so simple, you’ll laugh.

Put any animation keys on both the morpher and the opacity of the comp map. This will add bezier controllers to each and make them easy to find in a trackview. Then just navigate to one of them in trackview, rightclick-copy then goto the other and rightclick-paste and choose instance. Whala… you can change either and the other will update accordingly. Wire params have caused me many problems in the past so I avoid them like the plague.

oh!! so only if i set animation to the layer then it will be visible in the track view…
ok it works thanks , very helpful .

Yeah, some tracks don’t have an animation controller assigned to them until you actually animate them. I guess if everything had animation controllers on them by default, there’d be a lot of wasted data in our scenes.
