[Closed] loading custom toolbar with its scripts?
Jun 09, 2009 7:15 am
Id like to have a custom toolbar (including the macroscripts and scripts) that I can bring with me and load up on other 3ds max setup.
I know how to save the custom toolbar, but is there a way to automatically open the .ms and .mcr files (when loading the custom toolbar file) without having to copy them each time to the startup folder on the C drive?
thanks,

You could make a .MZP file that would extract (and run) all the appropriate .ms and .mcr files before your user loads the toolbar file (can’t load/display programmatically).
It’s akin to making an installer, without all the fiddly bits
More information on MZP files is in the MaxScript help file

Thanks, it’s actually not a bad solution. After the scripts files inside the mzp file are run they are deleted, so it’s not invasive.
