[Closed] how to approach making road traffic?

Hi there,

I am interested in making city traffic, and am wondering what the best way to go about it is. I havn’t been able to find any tutorials on traffic systems in 3ds (has anybody?).

I havn’t looked that much into Particle systems, but most of the tutorials and readings ive done about them do not control their positions directly, that is to say, you dont know exactly where they will end up before they start flowing.

To start, i want to have a simple road network with roads that have different speed limits (that the cars will adhere to). Do you guys think that the PS approach the best way of going about this problem? Are there any other tutorials that you guys have come across that also “constrain” particles to routes in a network? (blood vessels, water going thru complex pipe system etc) I’m still fairly novice in 3ds, but have definitly been making the rounds in tutorials and reading up.

Any leads greatly appreciated!

I think PsychoSilence made something like this using PFlow. Search the board, he’s posting now and then here on CGT.
