[Closed] First Person Camera?

hello all, I want to create a first person camera script in Max but the problem is I’m getting this error “Dependency Loop blah blah” I’m guessing is that I’m trying to constraint something that’s a child or parent…if anybody could give me any advice on building this (basic commands) that would be nice or if it’s too complicated then forget about and i’ll work on it tonight…

-> Setup a camera mode similar to a first person shooter game
-> Script this baby in Max
-> Movements: Forward, Back, Straffe, camera up and camera down.

Cheers,
n2

I’m also trying to create a 1st person camera set up in max script.
I am very new to maxscript.

I had an idea that I could use max’s motion capture controller to control z positions of dummies and then use a script to control the positions of another object (in this case camera) using the dummies. This way people can manually set up the speed / acceleration / falloff and keys for all the controls using motion capture. Of course these dummies would be setup from within the script.

For the most part this works. Except right now I cant get the timer item to work (to limit the loop speed). Which means upon starting it gets caught in a loop and causes max to become unstable. Even if I got the timer to work I dont think you can use motion capture at the same time.

Just thought I would share my experiences with making a 1st person camera. :D good luck with yours.

Its coming as a feture in version 7, and I read that “game level builder 2.22” script set has the function… FYI
