[Closed] FbxImporterSetParam does nothing?

using 3dsmax 2014 SP3 (extension), I can’t seem to affect any FBX Importer parameters using maxscript. calling “fbxImporterSetParam” to set any parameters does not affect the import UI at all, and whether #noprompt is specified or not the UI parameters are the ones that appear to be in effect when importing.

there are “PopSettings” and “PushSettings” that appear to be related, but no matter what combination i use with these and fbxImporterSetParam nothing sticks.

anyone know what’s up with this?
