[Closed] Fast way to set smoothing groups on Edit_Poly modifier?

so, it means that if you want set selection with editpoly interface for sure you have to set bits size to number of bits (num verts, edges, faces)

I would like to see whole workflow where this kind of methodology would be useful.

Seems like pushing broken car because I don’t wanna walk . Pushing it upstairs.

anyone who has ever worked with not organic high res models would not ask such a thing.

the answer is simple – wherever built-in MAX interface methods do not work well and a custom (special) programming solution is needed.

Domos, If you write a script that creates new polygons (not just modifying existing ones) based on a users vert or edge selection, then you’ll want to be sure you’re assigning smoothing groups to those new faces as well. If you don’t, then the user will need to assign them manually at some point which is an unnecessary waste of their time. Does that answer your question?
