[Closed] custom Grip/Caddy?

is it possible to script new grip controls in 2011?

As an example lets say I want to make my own poly extrude tool, and when I open the settings for my extrude tool I would like a Caddy/grip of my definition to pop up. i would expect that the 3 buttons at the bottom(ok,apply, close) are predefined and I must script each action. and I'm also sure that many of the normal rollout controls are not implemented(like color swatch) but spinners and listboxes are.

I have found the grip properties(for setting how and if it displays) in the maxscript help but it has nothing about making my own caddy UI for my own tools.

Or am I just stuck using the old rollout methods?

Edit: i’m getting the impression it cant be done. atleast not at the MAXscript level.

There’s no way to make your own… hopefully in a next release!

Yeah, that would be cool. Hopefully they will add it with a patch/SP or in 2012

2012 maybe, but not HF/SP as they typically don’t implement new features in HF/SP. IIRC, there is SDK creation access, just not any script creation.

Ya, had a feeling i was out of luck. Atleast in the process of trying to find out i fugured out how to stop the dang thing moving whenever i make a new selection
