hah! i was wasting time with a reverse foot for years but you want to get the answer just simply snapped your fingers?
It’s what I’ve been using for years as well, but I haven’t had any problems with it.
Are you referring to the fact that the feet can be pulled off of the rest of the rig? That’s easy enough to fix with a bit of Maxscript…
More importantly, what do you use instead then?
i can tell… but before that i want to hear from the community what’s wrong with the ‘reverse foot’. if everyone is happy why should i ‘disturb the peace’?
You seems to tell that reverse foot make leg “clap”… right?
I’m rigging and animating my character and that’s true you have to spend some time at the end of the walk animation, to adjust reverse foot to avoid claping of the knee.
Always strange to adjust a foot parameter to affect the knee.
Is that’s what you talking about?
this is a good tutorial that shows almost everything right

the only thing is how to switch IK to FK and back in this construction…
hmm… i’m kinda surprised that no one was interested to discuss the rig shown above.
… there are many mistaken solutions in this rig but the idea itself is absolutely right. and… today it’s the best concept to the ‘human like’ leg rig.
i’ve asked the question – what is the biggest problem of the ‘reverse foot’?
the biggest problem is the ‘toe’! with this rig you can’t rotate the toe and the foot about the toe end.
in my experience when a girl says there is something interesting in her panties but closes her legs, its probably a man, baby.
if you’re having problems with your rigs, you should trane more.
