[Closed] Control number of threads of mental ray, is it possible?

Is there a way to control the number of threads that Mental Ray uses when rendering?

I mean, i have 8 Threads, but i want to render only with 4…is it possible?

Cheers

Go into Windows Task Manager, and go to the Processes Tab. If you right click on Max and choose “Set Affinity”, I believe this allows you to choose which CPUs are used for processing.

Hi,

Why do you want to do that? Have you read Ken’s blog, somewhere in there there is a little bit about how you can make mental ray render in low priority.

J.

I don’t want to 3dsmax.exe proccess to run in low priority or with only 4 threads, i want to control the number of threads that are used to render, but right now is a silly thing…i just remembered that it cannot be done because mental ray is automatically threaded, and when you render max gets blocked, so…no solution

But thanks for the interest
