[Closed] composite texture map, script?

I try your map on max2013x64, create standard mtl and in diffMap put your Mtt map.
Then a pick some folder with maps but nothing happens.
What is wrong with my procedure?

I guess you did not add the suffix 0X0X where X is a digit from 0 – 9 that represents the U/V offset to your maps. Otherwise the script does not know which map belongs to which UV-slot.

Basically I’d rather use a more “general” method, so if you have some ideas to get rid of the frickin index-stuff, tell me.

You mean maps filename suffix.
I think that’s good to add “AutoArange” and “RandomArange” buttons to “in order” or “randomly” place maps to UV-slots.Then user will not need to manually rename each filename.
By the way, very cool idea for the map plugin.

Yep, I mean a suffix. I recognized such a numbering was widely used but of course you are right. I was thinking about the user might click on the slot and place a texture manually as a second mode. But there was something that bugged me with this idea… I forgot what it was.

thanks for appealing to my ambition. I’ve changed the script so you can also add files now. So the method you described yesterday -> “open Mtt, choose “select files”, click on a cell and choose proper texture” should work now.

Showing the textures in the viewport is a bit more complicated and will take some time. Unfortunately I have to stop working on this for now and plan some relocation-stuff, but I’ll definitely come back to that.

The script is too simple, you can always edit it or use parts of it.
the most important issue is the loops logic and the bitmaps arrays that fits your needs.
