[Closed] bvh based face/lipsync capture import?

bvh based face/lipsync capture import?

is there any maxscript loader or polugin available for 3dsmax to load a facetracked bvh file
i’m only aware of the bvh loader within biped and this is body motion specific i believe so won’t be of any use for facial capture.

i’d like to get this up n running…

Pretty cool software, if it works;) Do you have an example of what their bvh files look like? It shouldn’t be too hard to write an importer with maxscript. Only 21 points by my count. I’ve done something similar with our own makeshift rig. Have you contacted the people at zign? There’s a chance they’ve done it already or could whip one up quickly.

You can download an example BVH file here

It would be nice if you get it working. If there is any other way for getting motion capture or action files or something like that let me know. Maybe I could make Zign Track export to an other kind of format that 3dsmax can handle.

Thanks for trying.

Maybe this weekend I’ll have time to experiment with this (the 8 month old makes this kind of thing hard).

excellent…keep us informed on any progress!

Can you get TRC data instead? TRC is just the maker data and I have used that to drive rigs. You need to calculate all the matices your self but you then have full control over what it is doing.

Looks like your wish has come true. I have just released version 1.3 with TRC export (and Poser export) You can check out the example files on the website www.zigncreations.com
These TRC files should work in 3DS max. Does anyone know where to find a tutorial about this for max?

I know that Biovision used to make one that supported BVA and BVH…but that was a really, really long time ago. Might be worth shooting them an email though.

if the lipsync it’s generating is of the standard shown on their website you’re going to end up spending just as long cleaning it up once you import it, as you would have doing it from scratch. Sorry for being negative, but the output from these automated phoneme plugins just doesn’t cut it for me. 🙁

It’s not an automated phoneme plugin. It’s motion capture. (Not defending the program, haven’t used it.)
