[Closed] Bone ID vs Bone Index

Are they the same if not whats the difference? And is the maxscript help document confusing the 2?

these are the same things. bone ID is more correct.

Note that in max 2013 the bone ID changes whenever the list order in the UI is changed. In 2013 they changed the modifier to sort the bones in the UI by name (and it can be ascending or descending), and since then the behavior in maxscript has changed, and the bone ID changes every time the UI list is changed. So if you change from ascending to descending, for example, it will change. It will also change if you add a bone that is place between other bones in the list.
I reported this as a bug and really hope that they change it back, as this also seems to affect loading of weights from an ASCIIEnv file.
