[Closed] assigning vertex colors from a radiosity solution
Does anyone kow of a script for max 8 that will allow me to instantly bake in the vertex colors from a radiosity solution? Currently, I have to process a radiosity solution and then using the Assign Vertex Colors utility, bake that slotution into the scene which takes forever. Since max displays the solution as vertex colors in the viewport, I imagine there must be a way to instantly bake it into the scene without having to reprocess each object?
This is for real time assets for a video game so I am not using Meshing Parameters or anything like that… just basic radiosity settings.
thanks inadvance for any help.
Have you tried the “Assign Vertex Colors” in the utilities panel?
That is what I used to use for baking lighting into the vertexes, never tried with radiosity…
Yes, that is what i am currently using. It just seems redundant to me because the radiosity solution in displayed in vertex colors, so why then should you have to “reprocess” each object with the assign vertex color utitity? There should be a way to just instantly apply the radiosity solution as vertex colors. To give you an idea, it takes about 4 to 5 minutes to calculate the radiosity solution… no big deal… then it takes about 15 minutes when I use Assign Vertex Colors. Just seems like an unecessary step to me.Thank you for the reply though…
There is a plugin on Sparks for doing this.
