[Closed] animated fov -> fbx -> toxik

Hi,

I’ve wrote a script to convert an animated target camera along spline to a free camera animated frame per frame, to export it to fbx and then import to toxik/composite.
All works nice (the maxscript itself is nothing hard), but I can’t get the fov animation into composite. I dunno if it is the way max save fov (there is only horizontal fov keyable, focal lenghts and vertical fov is interface deduction from fov), a limitation from fbx format itself, or Composite not importing it (it put the fov as the first frame max camera fov, position/rotation is correct and animated).

If anyone could enlight me on how to get max camera into composite with fov animation, it would be a great help.

ok, like rayK (on composite aera forum) suggested my maxscript now create a dummy, and I put fov (converted to focal lenght) animation on the z position of the dummy to then link it to focal lenght into Composite.

In Composite, fov is NOT animatable ! max works with only h fov, and composite works only with focal lenght ! That’s why I convert fov to fl in maxscript.

Anyway, this is a SEVERE limitation in max/fbx/composite integration !
