[Closed] Updating UI elements during operations

no it’s not bad it’s just a little bit annoying. It’s a very simple rollout like

rollout "Rollout" width:400 height:400
(
   edittext pos:[10,10] width:380 height:380
)

there is no any flickering for me… what graphic mode do your use? Nitrous? Direct3D?

Nitrous. I’ll check the graphic card when i’m back at work.

Thank you Denis and Rotem for the working code!

I am also using Nitrous (Max 2012) and I see the UI flashing on many of the UI refreshes but not all.
OpenGL gives an almost identical performance however Direct3D gives very few flashes of which most are seen only after many dozens of UI refreshes have occurred first.

I personally don’t see these flashes as a problem since it is a visual indication (in the absence of progress bars or task manager monitoring) that something is happening!
