[Closed] Tutorial: Creating Application Installers for MAXScripts

Hey everyone, just wanted to say that Jeff Hanna just finished an excellent tutorial on creating maxscript installers with the free NullSoft Installer System (NSIS)! With a bit more effort, a complicated install process or a plain ol .MZP file can be transformed into a streamlined, branded installer.

If you have no clue what I’m talking about then you probably don’t need it. BUT, if you’re craving more than just MZP’s, check out the tutorial!!!

For convenience, there are both PDFand HTMLversions available.

thank you very much!!

You’re welcome. I hope it helps people make more powerful script installers. If you have any questions about using NSIS for script installation you can always find me on this forum and the MAXScript forum over on support.discreet.com

This looks great! I’m reading now
I hope it works smoothly

I used the tutorial to make my installer and it was a breeze.

You can even write out a startup script as well as write to the plugin.ini file.

Great for adding a startup script to the scripts\startup directory (for example declaring a global variable at max startup).

Awesome tutorial.
