[Closed] State Sets – from 3dsmaxcmd or API how know?

3ds max 2012 – State Sets – from 3dsmaxcmd or API how know?

Who knows how to implement it. The documentation did not find this. Is it possible to render a file from the command line with State Sets? Or something to get access to functions that.

Do you mean Scene States?

Nah, I think irendeir’s talking about the new pass manager in 3DSMax 2012 Service Pack 1.
I’d love some informations about this too, but I’m not sure whether the help files are updated for service pack or not. Maybe for Max 2013 ?

Kotch, yes talking about the new pass manager in 3DSMax 2012

Just looked for it, couldn’t find any sort of sdk. I also encounter numerous complaints and bug reports about State Sets :argh:
Looks like this first release was (way) too early…

It may be possible by passing a dotnet maxscript command to the file after opening it. AFAIK, there is no external access or command parameter to access them at this point.

State Sets are controlled by the Autodesk.Max.StateSets.dll dotnet object. So any access will be based around the properties and methods of that object. So you will have to work around the best way to access and call those dotnet methods/properties.
