Ah ok then. Well, I’d recommend hitting up the wishlist site at autodesk and ask for scriptable controllers, or else you may have to learn C++ unfortunately. Script access in slate will not give you the kind of access you need by itself.

What render engine are you using? Have you looked at mental mill AE and metaSL to build what you need? Max 2010 and later ship with all the default mental mill AE and metaSL shaders, so you may be able to build what you need, if you are using mr.
