[Closed] Road creation script

Hello all

One thing that I often missing in 3ds max is a simple way to create roads. I know that there are a plugin for it called City Traffic, but it´s expencive and do way more than just create road networks, also, there are a few standalone apps for that like City Scape but who can afford that program…

I want to start a new project in max script and create a rather simple script for creations of road networks. I want to start out with a rather simple script, lets just say that you draw a spline in the viewport that shall be the road, the spline can be straight or go left or right, doesn´t matter. Then in the script, chose the spline and press Generate road. A box with some default settings like width, height and so on will be created that follows this spline. After that is done, I can add more settings to the script, so that the user can put in some numbers for width, height and maybe a creation of sidewalks, number of roads (2 way, 4 way, crossings and so on).

Now, I am NO 3ds max script guru… I know the basics but I could use some help from experienced max scripters out there.

So, first question, is it a script that can be done? Is it easy to get a box with some default setting follow a spline using max script?

Regards Stefan

Sorry, I wasn’t aware! Maybe you can contact the author and maybe he’s willing to develop something like that, the technology looks like what is needed for roads.
