[Closed] Remove inner faces for cnc milling??

Hi guys,

I have created a 3d model that I now need to get printed using a cnc milling machine. The problem I have is that whilst making the model in 3ds max I have used the lattice modifier.

This creates problems because I have internal geometry where the struts meet the joints. If i try and print with internal geometry the cnc machine will ruin the model by trying the print the internal surfaces.

To remedy this problem I am trying to write a script which removes all internal geometry and leaves only the external surfaces on an array of objects.

I was wondering if anybody has any words of wisdom, or ideas about how I might begin or just a push in the right direction!

I was initally thinking that I could use some sort of boolean operation or blobmesh, but this does not seem to work, the model has lots of verticies so I am hoping that I will not need to adjust vertices as it will take forever.

Any help would be much appresiated!

Cheers.
