[Closed] Prevent modifier collapse?

I’ve had a discussion with another developer on our Slack channel, and it appears that I’ve missed this important bit of information:

Adding a modifier on an object changes its type to Editable_mesh.

That sucks

EDIT: except that, if ChannelsUsed() and ChannelsChanged() are made to return 0, then the type of the object is retained, so it works perfectly.

BTW. does Arnold modifier work right?
