[Closed] Open MCG in graph?

Hey guys.

Trying to learn MCG with the help of packaged mcg files from the web.

Now, I can’t find a way to open the packaged mcg files in the “cration graph editor”.

Is that possible at all?
Thanks

what about DuckDuckGo ‘Install MCG’ ?

Thanks but I know how to install MCGs. I just couldn’t find a way to open such a package inside the Max Creation Graph to see all the nodse that have been used.

when I got to “Open Max Craetion Graph” it lets me open maxtool, maxcompound and so on but not a file ending with .mcg

Bottom of the page here. It uses dotnet to load and execute the command.

EDIT:

showmethods bridge

.[static]<System.Boolean>InstallMcgPackage <System.String>fileName

so how about open the maxtool…and LOOK at the nodes ? Christ Almighty,…pretty simple isn’t it ?

Thanks PiXeL_MoNKeY, that really helped. I didn’t know Max would unpack the MCG into that directory.

By default when you install a package (manually or by script) it goes to the defined system location for the Tools/Compounds.

You can also rename the .mcg file to .zip and open it up. The “installation” appears to just use Max’s zip functionality to extract them into a folder then execute the installation.ms
