[Closed] Online repository of useful MXS snippets
Snipplr added a maxscript category and the syntax hilighting
a small test: http://snipplr.com/view/10508/check-the-status-of-a-remote-servers-service/
the maxscript category: http://snipplr.com/all/language/maxscript
the site appears to give us easy commenting, community editing, and an easier taggable search interface than the current state of things: cgtalk forums. I think to get wide adoption we might have to make a max or python based interface to make for easier posting/retrieval without having to use the web browser however!
Dave, that looks pretty good! I hope I’ll find some time in the next weeks to add some stuff myself, to test it and to see how it works when there are many examples. I think this is a great start, thanks for posting this!

Looks like Rob is starting to get public with his script initiative also at http://tech-artists.org/forum/showthread.php?t=256 Another thing to keep a close eye on, and i’m sure they’ll have a formal announce soon!
though a bit more formal than the tagged mass of functions idea of snipplr…
Haha, yes, tomorrow night I’ll make a full post here. I’ve been working almost non-stop for the past two weeks getting things in order, as well as GDC stuff and more (aside from my real job?), so I’m a bit too tired to do it tonight. Advertising will come tomorrow
I love the snippets thing (I tried posting one but my registration kept failing?). As I’ll explain tomorrow, I really want to see a better way to tie together of all these disparate things going on, keeping each individual but allowing them to communicate and work off of each other, instead of duplicating what they are doing, or even worse is leaving many voids, but worst is, trying to do everything in one place
Only reservation I have with snippets is, how we could interface with them, but that is another topic for another time.
Ok, ok – i may just have to sign up for this mad tech-artists.org site thingy! I have tons of ideas, most full fill my brain or note books but some tend to splerge out into the world.
Same here, I have not been able to register so far.
Much agreement. As I said before, ideally, such a snippet repository would be directly tied into the discussion forum, such that snippets can be created, linked to and commented on.
Reading your post on TAO, it sounds more like an alernative to scriptspot than to snippler?

Odd, running into the same thing here, sent a reply back to the fella who added the Syntax for us, so hopefully they see whats happening.
In the meantime, I peeked a little bit with that xml-rpc thing, and its quite trivial in python or php to read/submit snippets, unfortunately with maxscript you need an additional xml-rpc.net .NET assembly, above the default framework.
Will poke at it while the baby’s sleeping
Maybe its a bit selfish, I know I’d love to have a tagged searchable function index to pick from as a fairly new scripter!
Hey, Rob, congrats on doing the repository. I think it’s going to be a super nice thing to keep close to me I’ll participate as soon as possible!
And Charles, your crazy doctor ideas are always welcome, dude!
OK, seems snipplr is working again. I was able to register just now.
FWIW, I’ll give it a try and start using it, adding useful snippets as I find them.

Excellent, Maybe we can get a few more people/snips on there and get something rolling!
I just saw snippler has a wordpress plugin, which might be great the bloggers around here.
