[Closed] Multiple Maxscript 2008 windows?
Is there a way to do split pane or else multiple windows in maxscript 2008?
I like looking at two scripts at once a lot of the time where I have a little working script that I play with chunks of code and then shoehorn them into the bigger script which practically requires two windows or at least some means of seeing two at once. I can’t figure out how to do this. Can you?
So far that I can see… no. The editor is so darn customisable it must be possible somehow, but in the meantime you may just have to rely on Ctrl-TAB.
I know it’s not as good as what you’re wanting, but have you discovered the bottom window to the script editor? You can drag the seperator up and have a seperate area below your scripts that you can paste stuff into as reference… I really don’t know why they didn’t just make it work the same way as the top window though.
The output pane in the proEditor is from the original SciTE editor, which was used for all output, such as prints, errors and so forth. Since max already has an output window for this very purpose, the pane in the editor is used mainly for accessing dos command line (via ‘cmd’), and for some other tasks involving version control and findIn functions.
