[Closed] Maya GUI for Max

Does anyone know of a plugin for Max which changes the GUI to something similar to Maya.

Max and Maya are to different apps, trying to make one work like the other would just hinder the way it is supposed to to work and just make your time using it misserable. Learn Max and learn to use it the way Max is designed to work.

As a fan of the Maya UI, I still have to agree with Paul. Every time I find someone using a plugin like dRaster, it always introduces a multitude of problems. It is not difficult to learn a new software UI. The real work comes in learning what lays underneath the surface, which a plastered-on UI only makes more difficult.

Can’t remember the name but yes there is a program which completely translates Max’s interface into Maya. I believe they also have the opposite plugin as well.

EDIT: Spoke too soon. http://draster.com/component/page,shop.product_details/flypage,software-flypage/product_id,18/category_id,7/manufacturer_id,0/option,com_virtuemart/

Not true, as stated by ThatoneGuy a plugin is avalable, which I was aware of just couldn’t remember where. Although, I can’t speak on the possible bugs which might occur.

Its a matter of personal desire and comfortably, not bypass learning a particular application, and I am familiar with Max.

Thanks,

Yes it is true, how does that UI translate the stack into a history?? It can’t max doesn’t have a history and Maya doens’t have a stack. IN Max there are tools that don’t exist in Maya or don’t work well in Maya so a Maya UI will not serve you as you will try and work the Maya way. Don’t bother working with the Schematic view in Max as it sucks but you use it all the time in Maya. There isn’t a decent align tool in Maya but in Max you want to use it all the time. If you change the way the hot keys work for navigation what happens to the quad menus? When ever I know people that work this way in either package they complain that the package isn’t any good, basicly they are doing their best to Not learn the new package. Simple fact is they don’t work the same.

That being said I would still rather use the “S” key like XSI than the Alt Key like Max and Maya.

Someone care to write a plugin?
