[Closed] Max Snap?

Hello all, Okay in Maya when we want to snap to curve we usually press v (vertex) and I’m just wondering if theres a way in max when you click v I want to turn on Max Snap (max snap toggle) and then change the option…first “Clear All” and then set it to Vertex.

Thank You

I am afraid the snap system is almost pre-MAXScript code and is not exposed in detail. The only things you can do is open the dialog, toggle general snapping on and off and change the type (2D, 2.5D and 3D)…

Actually, the snap system as we have it now was added in Max 2 (the previous one in Max 1.x was rather rudimentary), and that was the version MAXScript was added, too. But it wasn’t until Max 3 that MAXScript started to merge with the UI, and Max 4 until Function Publishing started ruling its world.
So the snapping code was never designed to be exposed to MAXScript.

Sorry for the bad news

Cheers,
Bobo

:surprised

thanks anyways

The Avguard MAXScript Extensions by Larry Minton exposes most snap functionality to maxscript… And a lot of other cool stuff as well!

You can download it from maxplugins.de
