[Closed] Massive Local Moving

Hi there. I know you guru guys can help this newba here…

I need a tool(script or whatever) that is able to move a lot of faces(Edit Poly) according to your local orientation!

I mean, know when you select a face and Select the “Local” alignment?
The situation is: I got a sphere with the normals flipped. (Faces towards inside). And then, my work mate inset the faces and extruted then towards the center of the sphere. Now, I need to select those faces and move then almost back to original position, but every face has to move equally. So, I even cant think to move one by one.

Can you help me?

Please!
Thank you!

Moving locally doesn’t work for you with multiple faces selected? It should.

double post

Works only if I move one face at time. More than one doesnt work.

I guess the best way to achieve this is via script, controlling some sort of spinner moving the
selected faces together but locally.

Thats very odd, it works fine for me in max8. What version of max are you using?

I am using max9.

Can you create a sphere, flip the normals, extrude de faces towards the center and then, later, selected those new extruded faces and move then back to near the original position ?

Yes that works just fine, make sure your transform pivot is set to “Use Pivot Point Center”, it’s the button next to the Reference Coordinate System drop down that should be set to local.

Hi
select the faces/polys and and a push modifier.
