[Closed] Making a Utility button

I can’t figure this out:

I want to take a script and make a button in the utility pannel for it, rather than having to use the Maxscript button, then running the script from there or using the dropdown. I just want it to be a button in the main tab. Is this even possible without making a DLU?

thanks!

Nope, you have to make a DLU to get a button into the actual list of Utilities.
MAXScript Utilities are always “sub-utilities” of the MAXScript utility – they appear in a drop-down list when the MAXScript utility button is pressed.
There is not much access to the Utilities tab from MAXScript – you can only open and close Utilities from MAXScript unless the Utility implements its own Interface to provide access.

Lameola. I’m guessing a dlu is a compiled C++ thing, right?

i guess I’ll stick to a floating dialog thing. thanks bobo.
