it’s all about who cracks it. i probably need a day for a first time… my friend cracked my c++ plugin for 20 minutes.
it’s about hope that smart guys will not do it because it’s easy for them to write it from scratch. and not smart just will not do it because it’s too hard for them
That would be the case of using a C++/C# loader for your encrypted Maxscript.
If you decide to write your whole tool in C++ I think it is going to take a little more than a couple of minutes to anyone to rewrite your whole tool in a readable format, if that is the purpose of protecting the code.
If the purpose of encoding the tool is to prevent piracy, I would say don’t waste your time, invest it learning and developing better tools.
compiled code has it disadvantages in that with the right tools and a little knowledge core routines can be “copied” and “pasted” and used virtually as is but for the purposes of code obfuscation compiler machine code is ideal as it can be difficult to read and very convoluted.
I think that for someone it would be very sad to crack a c++ code in order to decrypt a maxscript, and in addition to this – to find the decrypted maxscript – obfuscated
Hi. I’ve found a great plug-in for maxscript protection. It can be very helpfull: http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/maxscript-protector
Seems like it also have an obfuscation.
This script is not very good, after use its not all scripts work. Some give an error: Call needs function or class, got: undefined
This script have a long story. In scriptspot.com the scrip’s thread had several changes of the names, several times the script changed what it does and so on. Several fake profiles tried to expalin to us how great and useful is the script. dimok135 is the author of the script, but he not tell this to us. Now the script is resurrected with new name, new price and new unique features.
forget about this tool. this is a misunderstanding. it never worked, and it can not work as advertised.
This is good. More people will use their own algorithms to protect scripts, rather than hoping that someone will do it for them.
