[Closed] Logo

Excuse me please that I ask such questions here on CGSociety about logos. I would like you to help me choose. I work for some moths on my logo. I want to update my old logo:

with a new one. my logo is artrender – the art of render, Rendering Arts. That’s why I decided to use squares because 3d max is using squares during rendering (mental/V – ray)
And here is what I’m working with at the moment:

Please help me choose. If you have any ideas how to improve, please give advice. Critics is allowed if it helps to understand the errors.

I address this question to you because – who else can know better this subject about rendering except you, dear maxscripters

2nd right is OK. Text is clear and readable. Also U can place “ART” word in tree separate bucket (bigger one) and “RENDER” in six smaller. But your concept is very clear and I like it because it is simple.

Thank you, Branko!

i’m agree with branko… second-right looks most balanced for me. both art and render use uppercase.
you have non-symmetry in the logo… the labels are shifted left from center. i would try minimize this effect. maybe make ART bigger and RENDER smaller to get the same width for both

Thank you Denis, I love you eye

that’s better. try to make another version:

top box make just white (dashed doesn’t make much sense for me, and not associated with render)

bottom box make a little smaller

so the center box will be bigger, but ‘ART’ and ‘RENDER’ labels keep the same size

i hope it will help to look the logo not so tight.

and middle box should be a little lighter (it’s too close by color to black)

I dig the simple design.

I would even like to see what the logo would look like if the top left box and bottom right box were the exact same size, making the middle box bigger and allowing you to center the texts, not sure if that is what Dennis was going for on his last comments.

cheers,

i like a little dissymetry… sometimes it makes a difference between art and artificial

Some updates.
About size:

  1. The big picture displays why I chose such dimensions: first square is 2 times smaller then third, and the 3rd square is 2 times smaller then second.
  2. DenisT: the advantage of DenisT idea is that the word ART has more padding at sides => more air, space, and easy to breath. The disadvantage is that it doesn’t keep size proportion (which may be is not so important, I don’t know)
  3. PePeTD: when the first and last square have the same size, because the first has bounding line, it seams bigger then last.
About dashes: I thought it displays not finished rendering – a process of rendering
About colors: My screen seems to display lighter then it should, please tell me which of them is better.

I think I will stop somewhere here, I like what I achieved with the help of you! Thank you for your thoughts and time!
