submit your job to backburner is the only solution. you can run a backburner manager and server on your local machine if necessary like if you dont have access to a farm

Backburner or render through 3dsmaxcmd and maxscript. The thing you should watch is the priority of the applications as rendering is much more intensive than working in the UI and may slow the in application usage unless you lower the rendering priority.
