[Closed] How to assign selections to Vertex Paint modifier?
Hi there,
I’m trying to assign selections to Vertex Paint sub-objects via MaxScript, however I can’t find the correct entries to do so. Maybe it’s even not possible as this modifier again has it’s own selection methods and so nothing to do with an Edit Poly / Edit Mesh selection. Anyway, is there a way to transfer selections from an Edit Mesh / Edit Poly modifier to the Vertex Paint modifier? Thank you very much!
EDIT: The reason why I want to do this is that the selection methods in Vertex Paint are very restricted. We want to use all selection features from Mesh/Poly and convert them to Vertex Paint, so painting is restricted to those selected areas. Manually creating those selections inside Vertex Paint without ring/loop/grow/shrink features etc. is very unhandy.
I´m in need of a tool for doing that also, my work is almost impracticable without a decent selection method in vertex paint, a tool for assigning vertex colors without modifier “like inside editpoly” would be nice also
