[Closed] Freeze Transforms and coordsys'es

Hi,

I’m hoping someone can help me with a little bit of a brain fade problem I’m having!

I have a facial rig of bones which I am wanting to freeze the transforms on so that I can setup all my lovely facial control system via max-script. However I am expecting that when i freeze the transforms on the bones they should get a new ZERO controller in their float lists which should give me their position or rotations as zeroed values.

However cycling through their different coordinate systems, after i have done a right click and freeze transform with all bones selected, I do not seem to see anything even remotely close to being zeroed out – can someone explain to me what I’m missing?

Your looking at the type in transform and unfortunitly it will not show you the value of a given list controller. I have a tool on my site that does just this called Active Transform Editor, I think that I need to update the down load as it is an older version and has a bug. Problem with list controllers is they are layers of animation that make up the final transform of the object. The Transform Type In shows the final transform values not any given values that make it up. You can also use the Current Value editor in the track view on any given selected track of animation to know what the value of it is. That can be found in the Utils drop down menu.

Ahh ok that makes sense. I was wondering if it was something to do with the values from my list controllers not getting displayed in the way I was expecting. Thanks very much for the feedback Paul – I’m always very grateful for your help!
