[Closed] Force Max to updated texture paths
Hey guys! Is there a way to force Max to update a texture path. We’ll have it where an artist will check in a texture that has uppercase letters. We’ll fix the texture to be lower case, then when we try to repoint the texture to the new filename, it keeps the uppercase version inside 3dsmax.
Is there a way to “flush”, i’m sure this hidden asset tracking, that prevents it from updating the texture path?
I’m just using the term “asset tracking”. Whatever 3dsmax is doing internally to optimize bitmap memory.
Lets say you have a texture path thats camelCase”, You rename the file/path so its all lowercase. You click on the bitmap button in the material, to now select the now lowercase texture, and it will say “i gotcha boss”, and show the camelcase texture pointer. So somewhere in max its holding on to the camelcase path, in this example. I’m just looking for a way to either remove that, or to tell it to update.
