[Closed] Custom attribute keys delay?

Anybody else noticed that max9 does not work very well with trying to edit/move custom attribute keys in the track bar ? Anybody got anywork arounds, b-cos I really got used to doing key edits with the track bar .

The problem being when you trty to move some CA keys with the trackbar it does not show you where you have actualy dragged them to. Unless you force some sort of refresh by re-selecting the object or changing track bar filters. But that kind of breaks up the fluidity of the workflow.

Cheers

Yeah, pretty annoying. I think its a bug since max 8 !

Actualy I have to move the range of the trackbar to update the visibility of some keys!

With the mouse over the trackbar do CTRL+ALT+ Middle mouse button and move the mouse to the left or right.

This procedure will force an update os the trackbar and the invisible keys will show.

I haven’t tried this yet, but I wonder if a simple script could cause the trackbar to be refreshed, by automating one of the aforementioned techniques. That way you can just tap a hotkey to refresh it.

It is in the known-issues document that ships with 3dsmax 9.
Autodesk apparently did not feel this bug was serious enough to fix before shipping max 9.
After all, share-holders come before animators, so taking another day to fix this issue is out of the question.

Yes, I’m pretty p**sed they shipped with this bug, as you can tell.
If one of your main target audiences is animators, then shipping with bugs like these is just not cool.

Since Autodesk knows about the bug, you can only hope they will fix it in a service pack…
I would report the bug on their website and let them know you find it equally annoying as me and perhaps they will make it more of a priority to fix the bug.

[size=3]Thanks everyone for the replies, I disagree with Autodesk I think its quite a big bug as it disrupts workflow. And I thought slick workflow was were software developers were concentrating their efforts recently rather than having a feature war with competitors.

I have also submitted a bug report, but I`m sure it will get diverted to some sort of cyber bin.

I read a thread over at the AREA by somebody who sounded like they were in the know, which said Autodesk are in no hurry to release a service pack for max9 as its has had relativley few bug reports!! Maybe it b***ocks maybe it true.

Anyway that’s my bitchin done for the day.
