[Closed] Better custom toolbar control
Within Max 2012 if I create a custom toolbar from
Customize user interface>toolbars tab>new
Then start dragging various things to it, if any of them are named with more than about 12 characters (which is most of the time) the names are not fully visible eg:
Conform wrap orig
Displays as
Nform Wrap o
If one has a big long list of buttons this gets very confusing
- I cant find a way of lengthening the buttons.
- Often, shortening the button names is not practical.
- I could apply an icon to the button but the icon list contains icons already used for other things in max so I never want to use them for that reason. Is there a way to load new icon files into max?
Failing all that perhaps I need to script my own rollout?
Any ideas or insight greatly appreciated!
Graham
I’m not sure if its possible or not but maybe you can edit the macroscripts for the toolbar buttons and add some /n characters to add newlines?
Sure! check this out:

Thanks for your replies,
MattRennie: I tried but
or /n are simply printed on the button rather than effecting a new line.
Norman3D: Looks promising! I will look into this properly ASAP.
