[Closed] Annoying windows 'bing' noise

OK… no idea what is going on here, but it is driving me nuts!

Selecting/deselecting, or switching from create panel to modify panel with certain objects selected is making 3ds max make a really annoying windows alert/‘bing’ noise.

It’s not all objects in my scene, and creating new objects with the same modifiers etc on them don’t seem to reproduce the behaviour.

I resaved the file as 3ds max 2012, thinking it was just a 2013 problem, but it does the same thing! Anyone else run into something that sounds similar?

My sanity thanks you…

Mikie

what viewport driver you have? nitrous or directx? do you have the degradation mode on?

I’m using nitrous drivers, with Progressive display enabled.

turn off the adaptive degradation. it’s not working right with nitrous.

damn thing still goes ‘bing’

… definitely seems to be related to having the modify panel open when deselcting the objects, or changing form the modify panel with the object selected. Switching between create, and motion for instance doesn’t make the annoying sound.

turn off the sound
and thank max for the making your life funner.

damn good idea
