[Closed] 3ds Max 2012 SDK & MAXScript Docs

Hi all,

What happens with the 3ds Max 2012 SDK & MAXScript Docs ? It seems they are still not available. Do you have any info ?

Hi Yannick, how are you?

I believe you can download them at the bottom of this page – I haven’t got them yet myself so can’t say if they contain the SDK and Maxscript offline help.

edit: Scratch that, I think it must just be the help docs – the maxscript d/l is under ‘developer downloads’ and currently only listed up to 2011.

confirmed – it is just the program help in offline format. I’ve emailed one of the big dogs at Autodesk to ask if there is a version.

Hi Pete,

Yes at the moment the 2011 are the most recent development help docs available.
I want to see what’s new in 3ds Max 2012 for the development side.

I have notified Shane of this again (he was already notified of this and a few other docs that haven’t been updated). I think they are working through it, so it should be available in time.

The maxscript online docs can be found here.

Thanks Eric! Unfortunatlly the search function of the MaxScript offline help doesn’t work on my machine. Could somebody confirm? The Index does work however…

Edit: weird, it works if I open the search.html but it won’t work if I use index.html
I guess I won’t be able to see search results and the pages at the same time 🙁

offline help search works perfectly here using Firefox and launching “index.html”

what browser are you using ?

hah! you are right! it does work with firefox, it won’t work with chrome though.

I am not sure if it is still the case or not, but in the past most of the Autodesk stuff was only tested/approved against IE. Not exactly sure how far that extends, but do remember I use to get warnings going to subscription running FF. So it you have issues, it may be good to test with IE. Personally I can’t say I have had many issues using FF (my preferred browser) with Autodesk html stuff.
